What does microneedling actually treat?
Microneedling is our most requested treatment, and for good reason. It addresses several common concerns at once:
- Texture: smoothing rough or uneven skin surface.
- Acne scarring: softening the appearance of shallow to moderate scars over a series of sessions.
- Firmness: stimulating collagen to support skin's structural support over time.
- Fine lines: improving the look of early lines as collagen rebuilds.
What happens during a session
A typical Intro Microneedling appointment runs about 60 minutes and includes a topical numbing period before the treatment for comfort, the microneedling pass itself, and a calming serum or mask applied afterward to support healing. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild vibrating pressure rather than sharp pain, especially with proper numbing.
What's the downtime?
Expect skin to look and feel like a mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, with some redness, warmth, and light sensitivity to touch. Most clients feel comfortable returning to normal activities the next day, and many return to makeup within 24 hours once any pinpoint irritation settles. Deeper settings used for scarring may extend redness slightly longer.
How soon will I see results?
You'll likely notice a temporary glow within a day or two as circulation increases, but that's not the collagen result. That takes time. Collagen remodeling continues for several weeks after each session, which is why microneedling plans are usually built as a series: most clients see meaningful texture and firmness improvement after three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with results continuing to build as the skin keeps producing collagen between visits.
Intro Microneedling vs. standard Microneedling
Intro Microneedling ($149, 60 minutes) is the first-visit entry point. Standard Microneedling is $275 for 60 minutes, and PEARL Microneedling is $550 for 60 minutes. If your primary goal is scarring or more advanced texture correction, your practitioner may also discuss whether UltraClear laser resurfacing should be sequenced alongside microneedling for faster results.
Frequently asked
Does microneedling hurt?
Most clients tolerate it well with topical numbing beforehand. It's typically described as pressure or vibration rather than sharp pain.
How many sessions do I need?
It depends on your goals. A single session can refresh the skin's appearance, but scarring and firming benefits build over a series, commonly three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.
Can I wear makeup after microneedling?
Most clients can return to makeup within 24 hours, once any pinpoint irritation has settled. Your practitioner will give you specific aftercare guidance.
